In short REVIEWED NOV 2026

Elephant Advisory's all-in-one service lets Melbourne business owners combine accounting, bookkeeping, mortgage broking, advisory, digital marketing and offshore staffing with one team. The order matters: clean books and the right structure come first, forecasting and pricing next, then marketing, staff and finance to scale and build wealth.

Led by Shehan Wijayasinghe, Managing Director and founder of Elephant Advisory (est. 2016)
Why sequencing matters

Doing the right things in the wrong order is how growth stalls.

01

Fix the foundations before you scale

Ads, new hires and new loans all multiply whatever is underneath them. If the books are messy or the structure is wrong, growth just makes the mess bigger and more expensive.

02

Each service feeds the next

Clean bookkeeping gives your adviser real numbers. Real numbers give your broker a stronger loan application. A clear forecast tells you when to hire or spend on marketing.

03

One plan, one team that talks

Your accountant, bookkeeper, broker and marketer sit in the same office, work from the same numbers and agree the order with you, so nothing gets done twice or out of sequence.

The five stages

Where is your business right now?

Most businesses move through these stages in order. Find yours, and that's where we start. You can skip ahead, but the earlier stages tend to catch up with you.

  1. STAGE 01

    Start

You're setting up, or you've outgrown being a sole trader.

    Signs you're here
    • Not sure if you need a company or trust
    • Personal and business money still mixed
    • No accounting software yet
  2. STAGE 02

    Stabilise

Revenue is coming in, but the admin is eating your week.

    Signs you're here
    • BAS is always a scramble
    • You don't know your real profit until tax time
    • Payroll takes hours
  3. STAGE 03

    Grow

The business works. Now you want it to work harder.

    Signs you're here
    • Busy, but margins feel thin
    • No budget or forecast to plan against
    • Customers find you by word of mouth only
  4. STAGE 04

    Scale

Demand is there. Capacity and capital are the limits.

    Signs you're here
    • You're the bottleneck in every decision
    • Hiring locally is slow and expensive
    • You need funding to take the next step
  5. STAGE 05

    Build wealth

The business pays you properly. Time to turn profit into assets.

    Signs you're here
    • Self-employed and unsure what you can borrow
    • Ready for a home or first investment property
    • Thinking about super, SMSF or your exit

All-in-one FAQ

Mixing and matching, explained.

What business owners ask before they bring more than one service to us.

What does all-in-one business services mean?

It means one Melbourne team covers accounting and tax, bookkeeping, mortgage broking, business advisory, digital marketing and offshore staffing. You pick the services you need, and we sequence them so each one builds on the last.

Do I have to use every service?

No. Most clients start with one or two services. We only suggest adding another when it solves a real problem, like getting books current before a loan application or forecasting before a hire.

Which service should I start with?

Usually the one that fixes your biggest bottleneck. For most owners that's clean bookkeeping or the right business structure, because forecasting, funding, marketing and borrowing all depend on reliable numbers.

Why does the order of services matter?

Because each step relies on the one before it. Marketing without known margins wastes money, hiring without a forecast strains cash flow, and a loan application is stronger when your financials are prepared the way lenders assess them.

How is pricing handled when I use more than one service?

Each service is quoted on its own, so you only pay for what you use. Accounting and bookkeeping are quoted as fixed monthly fees, and for home loans 99% of our clients pay nothing because the lender pays our commission.

Can you work alongside my existing accountant or broker?

Yes. You can bring one service to us and keep your other advisers. We'll share what they need, with your permission, so everyone works from the same numbers.
